The City of Woodstock is seeking qualified individuals to apply for consideration for the position of GIS Analyst I. This position performs technical work associated with the development and maintenance of the city’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS
-Producing, maintaining, and updating city geospatial data, customizing data, assuring accuracy of data, and maintaining metadata.
-Providing operational support to City departments through the production of maps, reports, spatial analysis, and other geographical-related information.
-Developing and maintaining web and/or mobile mapping applications for use by city departments and the public, publishing GIS web services, and assisting in maintaining GIS website.
-Digitizing maps, plats, plans, surveys, and similar paper documents into GIS format.
-Assisting with design and development of databases, creating and editing data, researching problems to find solutions, and documenting procedures.
-Providing assistance to end-users of GIS applications and technology, troubleshooting issues, and providing basic training as needed.
-Operating GPS equipment to collect data on city resources and infrastructure, and performing other related work as requested or assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
(A) Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in geographic information science, geography, computer science, or related field OR
(B) An undergraduate or graduate certificate from a college or university in Geographic Information Systems and one ( 1 ) year of relevant experience, OR
(C) Any equivalent combination of education and experience which yields the following knowledge, skills and abilities to include, but not be limited to the following:

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
(A) Working knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software, including ArcDesktop and ArcCatalog; understanding of data creation, GIS database schema, and spatial analyses.
(B) Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc)
(C) Understanding of cartographic design principles; datums, projections, and coordinate systems; and other relevant geographic principles.
(D) Ability to work and learn independently; skill in researching problems to find solutions.
(E) Ability to interact with and aid city employees and the public in person, over the phone, and through email.
