Title: Parcel Fabric
Presentation: Oconee County GIS will present on how they have migrated to Parcel Fabric and how it has enhanced and streamlined their land use record database for parcels, zoning, city limits, and more.
Speakers:
Shawna Benson
Shawna Benson is a GIS Analyst for Oconee County. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Georgia Southern University and began her career as a field archaeologist, conducting surveying and mapping projects across the southeastern United States. She later focused her interests on geospatial analysis, earning a postbaccalaureate certificate in GIS from Penn State World Campus in 2022 and starting her position at Oconee County shortly afterwards. At Oconee County, she integrates her field surveying experience with advanced mapping technologies, such as Parcel Fabric, to support her local government’s operation.
Matt Beal
Matthew Beal is the GIS Administrator for Oconee County. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Georgia College & State University. He has ten years of local government experience including enterprise data management, field collection, and spatial analysis. His primary role with Oconee County is maintaining the Oconee County enterprise databases and providing support to the citizens and employees of the county through the creation and maintenance of GIS products.
