Edwards-Pitman Environmental is seeking a GIS Technician for our Smyrna office. Under direct supervision, candidate would be responsible for digitizing and cataloging environmental data from a variety of sources. Responsibilities would include:
- Identifying environmental resources from paper and digital sources
- Working with proprietary and open-source GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS)
- Assisting team with GIS-related tasks
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Bachelor’s in Geography, Environmental Studies, or related field
- 0 – 2 years’ experience
- A strong sense of organization
- A desire to problem solve
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap, ArcCatalog)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, Word)
- Familiarity with versioned data
- Fundamental understanding of relational databases
- Fundamental understanding of geoprocessing and Python scripting
