The City of Americus is seeking a qualified candidate for Assistant GIS Director.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Designing and executing the Enterprise GIS program.
Work with GIS Director to learn the role of Director for future advancement.
Designs and oversees implementation of spatial infrastructure.
Develops city and county standards for data maintenance, data quality, and cartography; researches and composes data governance policy, departmental service level agreements, technical specification.
Directs the acquisition, development, and maintenance of GIS Data
Designs and develops interactive maps, web applications, data schemas and data portals.
Oversee and administer GIS office budget.
Conducts training, outreach, technical support, and vendor engagement.
Performs related work as assigned.
Requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences such as civil engineering, GIS, Business, or closely related fields. Requires progressively responsible experience as GIS technician, GIS Analyst, or closely related fields. Required qualifications may be equivalent to education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skill, and abilities for this job.
